Post Halloween, day of the Dead

Well, last night's candy tally comes to a total of only 5 children, leaving us with a ton of leftover chocolate. Sure, I had some chocolate dipped in peanut butter, inspiring further heroic dreams, where despite my not very large size, I was a defensive end in the NFL, and a really good one too. In reality, I did play football in high school, but even as compact as I am, I did well, because all it took was knocking kids down at the knees. Our teams were never very good.
I’ve put this up before, but here it is again, Dead Can Dance, for Mexican day of the dead and tunes o’ the day.

We bought for 300. Forty showed. Kit Kat sandwich anyone?

Yeah, I like kit kats too, which was all part of my plan. It was a rollicking 68 degrees in the afternoon, but then a rainy cold evening....

Yes, please! I haven't had any Hallowe'en candy this year.

Well, dangit, why didn't you dress up and come over? You could start with the cowboy boots and figure out the rest, right? Worth a couple of kit kats.
You know, every year previously I have gone to the store on Nov 1 and bought the half priced chocolate, this year they were already sold out last week, and selling the Christmas candy.

You know, there were ads on TV back in the 70s for reese's p.b. cups, something like 'you got your chocloate in my peanut butter!' etc, and let me tell you, it is a great way to treat your chocolate.

We are fans of Reeses Nutalicious bars that are being WITHHELD FROM CANADA!!!!

Apparently our overlords think adding peanuts to a Reeses chocolate and peanut buttter combo would RUIN OUR NATION as they are being WITHHELD FROM CANADA!!!!

That's pretty awful. Fascists, commies, authoritarian KOOKS!
Is there a smuggling and black market exchange for them?

Alan ... Never had a crunchy Reese's peanut butter cup? ;-)

Kids were down this year at our house. We had 54 last year, only 37 this year. I still had fun with the fog machine at the door, though ... :-D

man, we're going to YOUR house next year, gordo. a fog machine!

Gordo - the crunchy cup is a fraud foisted upon our nation, all the while when the Reese's Nutalicious bar is so near but yet so far.

Extreme candy: dipping any reese's into peanut butter.
Kids, don't do this at home!

I used Halloween as a pretext to buy the machine five years ago and have had a great time with it. I listen for the jabbering kids come up the drive way and give the fogger a 3-second blast to fill the front hall with fog. That guarantees a great billowing cloud out eh door when I open it. Any time I can make the kiddies take a step back from the door as I open it is a good one. :-D

Cracks me up, gordo, you have got to be the ONLY dad on earth with a fog machine for Halloween.
And a catapult for pumpkins on Nov. 1.
