So, we got his painting blog going, and he can load a million pics in there. Just starting. And we moved DEAD TREES AROUND WITH THE TRACTOR!

- Gary Rith is a full-time studio potter and also an instructor of pottery at Cornell University's Pot Shop. Gary started learning pottery in 1983. In 1985 he served as an apprentice to Dean White of Deansboro, NY and earned a bachelor's degree in art from Bennington College in 1987. He has been a full-time sculptor and potter since 1997. Gary started his business in New Hamspshire, where he was selected as a member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen in 2004 and in 2005 was named one of New Hampshire's Emerging Ceramics Artists. He moved to the Ithaca, NY area in 2006, near where he grew up, and is happily making pots and sculpture in a purple house on Fall Creek. Gary likes to laugh, and his first goal is to have fun making pots.

My mom is creative, D, and my sister is an old fashioned field biologist, and draws as they did a hundred some years ago, before photography.

Gary, I didn't want to send this to your Dad and freak him out, but does he read the Times? The University of Alabama is suing an alumnus artist for painting their sports teams: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/12/us/12artist.html
Thanks Lucia! I know, gordo, about that isssue. He has talked with them. They could definately get nasty if they wish, but he has done this for several years and the University SELLS his pictures for him and they split the money. So, he has the unwritten permission, everybody makes a couple of dollars. I have warned him that if my friends are looking he better update that blog frequently!
