day after SPCA fair

(Mr Pottersblog and part of his display plus painter Alice Muhlback's display)
Pretty busy day and a gorgeous one, on the lakefront with a million dogs and hanging around with friends.

CASS Park Saturday

(stuff by Gary Rith)
OK, craft fair as part of something by the SPCA at Cass Park Ithaca Saturday. If you are anywhere in New York, I expect to see you there. Bring cash. This last load out f the kiln is esp. juicy.

FAB FRIDAY!

(bowls by Gary Rith)

Having spent the week blowing my nose and dragging my behind around, a full night's sleep and healthy nose are a relief and a joy.

So, these bowls here. Sometimes you're in the mood to whack bowls a little bit, to square them off.

More later, alright? And thanks to all the usual visitors here for comments and contributions: guest dj CM, MOI, Mary Lee, Lou, Gord, Greg, Kate, Jim, Susan, Denis, John, my wife cats and dogs and many other's. I love your comments and contributions, you're all so nice!

Caliban - Medusa: from guest DJ CM

Caliban, Medusa.

I met a couple of these fellas in Dublin this week. Apparently they're very big in Poland.

!!!

(stuff by Gary Rith)
'Been kinda busy lately, eh Gary?'
'Well, always to some extent, but I have a fair Saturday and open studio in 2 weeks.'
'Oh, right, selling things to fools who don't know what to do with their money.'
'Especially if those fools have big wallets.'

Kate and Jim send us this selection for Mary Lee.

this is why YOU read pottersblog

There was a voice behind me at the bank yesterday:
'you have the curliest hair I have ever seen!' said a grandmother-type.
Missus Pottersblog wants me to grow it, I want to trim it, it does as it likes.
I grew the mustache again for a few days, just to get the wife's attention and tease her a little.
She does not want me to grow the 'stache again.

'I am getting very very angry....'

A favorite of Gord and mine, you can actually buy a Marvin the Martian action figure. We live in great times.

bowlies!!!!!

(bowls by Gary Rith)

The cold recedes and good health and good humor returns. I got a ton of stuff done, drippy nose and all.
I think we broke a record for temps yesterday, over 90 in late September here in the north? A little unusual.

shots around the house!

I traded a pal of mine some pottery for this COOL DAFFY CLOCK that he made.
The studio has its own porch, and since it is hot and sunny, I am drying some pots out there. The foreground is upside down elephant mugs, just finished.

many more mugs and a petite haiku

(mugs and haiku by Gary Rith)

Runny, drippy nose
Sneezes, coughs, stuffy misery
Coffee wakefulness.
This is how the west was won: a strong brew moves the man.

many mugs

(mugs by Gary Rith) Blue on blue remains a first choice here, but I gotta mix more glaze as supplies are dwindling.

Big day, gotta finish a load of stuff, go to the library and grocery store. Woohoo!

why blooger, WHY?

Do you make my pictures disappear? You should see a picture here of Penny on my chest. Blooger is FREE, but there are some bugs in my acct. I don't get email notification of comments anymore, and it drops some of my pics sometimes PLUS posting has become a lengthy chore. It needs a tuneup of some kind.

"tell me why...

(bowls by Gary Rith)

...I don't like Mondays..."

well, this one seems especially busy and the nose is running and the body wracked with chills. I shall soldier on bravely, there is a fair I am setting up for Saturday, therefore gotta finish a load.

squared off teapot

(teapots by Gary Rith)

I have made some squared teapots, but I wanted to try one with the spout and handle on corners. Gotta make another.

righto

(Mr Potsblog and Penny, Buster, and Jack)

The camera is loaded with pics, but they await transfer to the

computer. Sunday is not a day of rest here, so let me get something done and then I shall return with pics.

Interpol -

OK, no more slacking, dishes to do and teapots to make and floors to scrub and/or vacuum.

Oh Ho! Zebra mug!

(mugs by Gary Rith)

'So Gary, whatcha up to?'
'Mmm, still sleepy, no coffee yet'
'These cups look good'
'Thanks, I got a whole 'nother load out of the kiln last evening, they look good too'
'And today?'
'What the heck am I doing today? There is talk of a hot date with the wife, go see the flick 'Death at a funeral.' Yesterday I made monster mugs with 3 eyes, not just 2, and a tongue at the bottom. That's exciting.'
'You live a very quiet life, GR'
'I'm happy with it.'

more blue bowlies!

(by Gary Rith)

CM checks in from Dublin

CM is halfway through her trip to Ireland:
"It's amazing. There is so much to see, I'm worried I'm not going to get it all in. Had grand intentions today but only managed the book of Kells and the Guinness Storehouse. It's very civilized, everything closing at 5, but it does make it difficult when you're trying to fit everything in in a limited time."

For us, the grunge generation, and esp. Lou in Ireland.

circus dog gets her dinner

Why would anyone watch Penny eat her dinner? Because she is cute!

Penny broke her nice hand-made ceramic food bowl last week and is currently using a little cream cheese tub for her food. The potter needs to make her another custom dish.

kittie brackish

Like I say below, not to everyone's taste and louder than 11.

Kittie-Brackish live

Not for everyone. Very heavy metal, louder than 11.

doggy mugs!

(by Gary Rith)
Some of you slackers say you can't see the cat mugs. I CAN see the cat mugs. Here, look and tell me if you see dog mugs. If you can't blame BLOOGER, which is playing games with me.

unneccesary closeup

(Mr Pottersblog turns the camera around)

Blooger has been in a bad mood.

I need to cast a spell on the darn thing to get it to load my pics today.

lovey dovey

(Spike the cat, Penny the beagle, Buster the big dawg)

You should see Spike and Penny, all cuddly and loving together. Yesterday, the second time they curled up together for a nap, Spike gave Penny all kinds of kisses and was licking her (big brown) ears. A cat and a dog!

Bobby Vinton - Blue On Blue

dashing about madly

(fresh pots by Gary Rith)
The colors here look bad, but this lot will be photographed one by one and posted because they are all so yummy and beautiful! 'Blue on blue...'
I have been running around all morning taking care of business, which is probably what other people do every day. Working quietly at home is much better than anything outside the house.

cute round ears

(pots by Gary Rith, drying on a warm kiln)
So, I was thinking about little pigs and dogs, the bread and butter of this operation. I decided to change the ears: a little more round, curvy, thicker. Most satisfying.

van halen - jump

KINDA BUSY at the moment, catch up with you later.
