About Me

- Gary Rith is a full-time studio potter and also an instructor of pottery at Cornell University's Pot Shop. Gary started learning pottery in 1983. In 1985 he served as an apprentice to Dean White of Deansboro, NY and earned a bachelor's degree in art from Bennington College in 1987. He has been a full-time sculptor and potter since 1997. Gary started his business in New Hamspshire, where he was selected as a member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen in 2004 and in 2005 was named one of New Hampshire's Emerging Ceramics Artists. He moved to the Ithaca, NY area in 2006, near where he grew up, and is happily making pots and sculpture in a purple house on Fall Creek. Gary likes to laugh, and his first goal is to have fun making pots.

This is the week I can't catch my breath. Working summer school concessions in the mornings and VBS in the evenings. That only leaves afternoons for any sort of business and napping. Oh, and today is SM's birthday...I should post that, shouldn't I?

I had one of those dogs- or I think my grandma had it at her house. I used to love to pull it around the house. It made a kinda squeeky nose and had an uneven flow when you pulled it.
I am at home and NOT painting today. HORRAY! Now, I am organizing.
i think it's the weather. all it does is rain, rain, rain here. people are too tired to go on the internet. we need sun.

I'm at work today, some of us don't have the luxury of working from home.....yet. sigh. one day,ONE DAY! :)
I had one too when I was a kid, and stumbled across this pic. Reminds me, of course, of my beagle Penny. And boy, Denis is right, there is a HUGE amount of rain this month.

We had that toy growing up as well. If I recall, it was one of those Fisher-Price pull toys. We also had a telephone that was similar.
Well Gary - it's true - some of us have to work. hehe!
