pre-frosh at Cornell

I was on the Cornell campus today, headed to class and it is a woodsy campus, despite 20,000 students and 10,000 employees. This mama deer and her twins were grazing near the admissions office, and one of the little guys was VERY frolicsome and happy (lower pic). I was standing there snapping pics, and they walked right up to me! I could have fed them!
I know some people consider them a nuisance, but they are to me beautiful and quiet woodland creatures (although I don't like them chewing up my flowers.....).

Adorable pictures, Gary - but I especially like your caption!

Wow, and I thought the deer here were brazen!

In other news, go visit Tink. She has sad news and needs some bloggy love.

Twins! I think it is great that they are wandering around campus, but find it disturbing that they are so accustomed to people that they are looking for handouts!

I don't blame you for not enjoying having them eat your flowers.

you should have brought them home and kept them in your nice backyard.

aren't they adorable? Nobody on campus would bother them or the woodchucks or bunnies and squirrels, and YES, they are all well fed and tame!

Lucky you. We see the occasional deer grazing in the fields, but nothing up close lately.
