more flower scenes from a purple house

The purple iris which inspired the previous owners to paint our house purple are all out now and are most inspirational. In back we have a million wild flowers, I think they are wild phlox, also light purple and lavendar colored. I saw wild phlox for sale at the flower store, 99 cents a cut stem! I could be a millionaire?

Gorgeous yard, Gary. You need a hammock out there, somewhere. :-)

Yes, your wild phlox is beautiful! Do any deer come and eat your hosta??? We have to spray ours so it keeps them away. Our yard is a regular salad bowl for them.

sure, the deer, the woodchuck and the bunnies! I shovel all the dog crap around the edges of the yard, to create an invisible fence. The idea is, little woodland creatures smell it, and go elsewhere. Or maybe they just don't want to step in anything. Anyway, it works compared to before, when all the dog crap went in one spot and all the plants got eaten.

Nice work, Gary! Makes all the heavy winter snow and dog-crap shovelling worth it.

We don't have enough dog crap to put all the way around! ha! Our yard is too big to ever possibly do that. The deer come from the woods across the road and meander along the side of the house where I have one garden. Then then move to the back yard and munch their way through. We use 'deer away' or 'deer-be-gone' and they hate the smell/taste. But it doesn't seem to bother the bunnies.
