THANK Canada, for SLOAN!

A little alternative rock pop? Suddenly Nova Scotia's Sloan is in the 'New Yorker' and then featured on NPR yesterday. What a treat! As the reporter said 'they are very big in Canada', but having been around so long, perhaps surprising they are not bigger in the lower 48 plus 2.
So, delirious recovering-from-a-cold dreams with burglary, a shotgun, a shot in a burglar's posterior, and a visit to the NYPD station house in mid-town, which is not a nice place, trust me.

They were very big in Canada. Ten years ago. Good heavens, where does the time go?

Now they're big news here? What took us so long?

has it been 10 yrs already.. wow! yeah it must be the new border regulations - just walking up and saying.. Hey! I'm just coming over for lunch eh! - doesn't seem to go over well any more hmmm(fond memories from St Stephens NB) ;)

Maybe the US ignores Canada?

I think we just export that which we are tired of. Look at the Tragically Hip, Alex Trebek and Howie Mandel.

We're still holding on to David Wilcox

Whoops ... Bad URL. The true David Wilcox

Sloan's website is also a server mate of mine as I put my old pal, Sloan's manager, in touch with my other old pals, silverorange, the web wizards.

That is so cool. This video here is most terrific. I thought there might be some Halifax thing going on here....

Your welcome for Sloan, and The Trews. But we sincerely apologize for the lead singer of Supernova!

And Celine Dion. You have her now, you have to keep her.

No no no, Gordo, it's like catch and release fishing: we should just toss her BACK.
The Tragically Hip have been featured here before, and will again, Kingson't best!
Br--you really must email a bio of yourself sometime (sure, I'm nosey, everybody here has seen it). I saw hints about you having a wife, but Sean said you were a she... which of course might both be true (of course, Sean is Sean, though). Think about it please, you're interesting.

Gary - is bio public? If yes, then I'll have to make up something really cool, if no, then you might get something close to the truth.

No deposit, no return, Gary!

Any way you like it, BR, but I say both. Claim what you want here, email something closer to the truth? I am such a nosey guy.....

Take Celine back, she has enough money to qualfy for citizenship.

My proudest moment as a Canadian was hearing The Hip on the radio in Scottsdale, AZ in '97.

Young Mister Supernova hit on me once. Not exactly a proud moment for me, but one I love to bring up whenever his name is mentioned. I declined his advances.
