a birthday

AA Milne was born today, and those stories were and are fantastic, even if The Mouse has continually looked for ways to schmaltz his work and squeeze it for every last penny.

Oh the squeezing. I have to say that I get soooooo sick of Pooh products. Jeesh. They make everything Pooh and it's rather sad, sort of takes away the special-ness of the stories and the characters. I have the two volumes of originals by A. A. Milne - I love reading them to my kids.

Gary, would it surprise you to know that the Mouse is in charge of licensing for the RCMP? One of a growing list of national embarassments.

Unfortunately, Maggie, people keep buying that claptrap, so it's not going to disappear anytime soon.

To do an mage search I included 'shepherd', the illustrators name for the originals. Do you realize how few of those images are out there, compared to the modern junky depictions? JUNK!

What is the matter with Mary Jane?

We grew up with that stuff too.

I bought a French language version of Pooh that I thought would be tolerable. It isn't though for me, but the kids think it's great.

I started to write a response. Then it got longer. Then I thought: "Shoot, I'll have to put it up on my blog."
