- Gary Rith is a full-time studio potter and also an instructor of pottery at Cornell University's Pot Shop. Gary started learning pottery in 1983. In 1985 he served as an apprentice to Dean White of Deansboro, NY and earned a bachelor's degree in art from Bennington College in 1987. He has been a full-time sculptor and potter since 1997. Gary started his business in New Hamspshire, where he was selected as a member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen in 2004 and in 2005 was named one of New Hampshire's Emerging Ceramics Artists. He moved to the Ithaca, NY area in 2006, near where he grew up, and is happily making pots and sculpture in a purple house on Fall Creek. Gary likes to laugh, and his first goal is to have fun making pots.

How long have you been making pigs, anyway?
Made my first piggy bank in 1989 I guess, and the fourth or fifth one I ever made is here watching me every day, I have it still. Just made 2 more, time for mugs and bowls. Break for tea and typing now to warm my fingers (TRUE!)
Cameron's absolute favourite animal is the pig. We'll be talking before his birthday in April. :-)
So the little man turns 3 in April. April 8 I turn 41, what day is his? Has the young man seen the new 'Charlotte's Web'? Did he like 'Babe'? Does he read (or look at) 'Olivia' or 'Toot and Puddle'?
April's a busy month around here: Bridget turns ___ on the 5th, her Mom is 85 on the 18th and Cameron is 3 on the 26th.
He doesn't have the attention span to sit through a movie yet. I have seen Olivia of Toot and Puddle. I'll have to look them up.
