wall of voodoo

Totally choice video for today, 'Mexican Radio'. Was it BR suggested this the other day? The video holds up very well, and the guys don't have embarassing 80s hairstyles or anything, they could show this to their grandkids with pride.
So, dreamt last night I was in summer school, English class, and I was the teacher's pet and the other kids threw chocolate at my head and the teacher was mad about it so she took me out for coffee and conversation. I guess nobody was allowed to throw chocolate at her little darling.
Crummy weather blown in from Canada this morning. Below zero degrees F, windy, a few inches of fresh snow. Our heater is a large natural gas monster PLUS I ran a glaze firing yesterday. The house is toasty. I worry about all the ducks and geese behind our house in the river. Those guys should be in Georgia or Mexico, I doubt they had an easy night.

I found the lp with "Mexican Radio" on it a few years ago. That is one of the best records that came out of the 80s but does not get the play it deserves.

Dude! I mentioned this at work one day and the guys just looked at me like I was nuts.

cm--you work with a bunch of kindergartners, and their opinon on anything other than milk and cookies is to be ignored.
Alan, it has traveled well, very unusual melodies and such, but holds together beautifully.
Actually, Gordo, it is more like 3 plus here. Is that -18c?
I just shoveled fr the first time this year. 4-5 inches of fluff, except where the plow pushed it up by the roadway--that stuff is HEAVY. But I am very happy with how clear the road is.

Great tune and video. It was not I who suggested it though (twas the buggles). For some reason I'm listening to Johnny Cash live and the Beatles Abbey Road today. No, not at the same time but it strikes me as a strange mood mixture.

my thermometer said -27 C this morning when I left the house at 7:45, thats -17F. Your +3 F (approximately +2 C) is positively balmy!

I'll email you a pic of my snow shovel gary.

It is interesting, and the radio confirms it: about 9 degrees at my house and downtown Ithaca, BUT at my mom's house one hour east it is 3 below. I can only guess Cayuga lake is warming things slightly? Changing the wind patterns? BUT, my mom had zero snow, we got 5-6 inches.
Oh yes, the Buggles. I knew you had mentioned one of those. My snow shovel is a large metal scooper thing from Agway: an agricultural store. They are sold year round for scooping out stables and barns! Lightweight, big capacity......

-25.5F, windchill of -44.7F and she's outside doing cartwheels in a bikini.

you're right Gordo - for some reason I thought Gary meant "3 above freezing" which to me meant 35 F. My mistake, it will likely happen again.

Wait, 35 fareinheit equals 4 o'clock in the morning in Canada? You people are so confusing, why don't you use measures like everybody else instead of making it up as you go along?

I hope that young woman in the bikini had a nice sauna to run into, with a big shot of bourbon too.
Listen--I have seen so many snowstorms 2-3 feet each day, or up to a meter or more, that believe me, I know we got it good so far this year. Gawd, the sun's out, beautiful!!!

come on, what's easier than 0 is freezing, 100 is boiling? where the heck did you ever get 32 from? and whats with ounces? I mean 16 ounces of Ale, isn't that a wieght? I was in grade 1 or 2 I think when Canada switched to metric, so it makes perfect sense to me. Nice use of metric in your description though Gary, as you'd expect we spell it differently - metre. Just be glad we didn't throw a 'u' in there, I know how you like that!

Gordo, I am sure she didn't want a cold head.
BR, you Canadians think you know everything, and you can't even spell correctly. Could 300 million Americans be wrong, huh, huh, huh??????

In a word, yes.
