007

Interesting, what do I resolve? But first: dreaming last night, something about a little hamster (that's a new one) then I was awakened shortly after 12 because sheriff, state troopers, ambulances and the rest were all tearing down the roadway. THAT is not a good sign. Perhaps it is not surprising I had most exciting dreams after that of a career move into breaking and entering, in a word, I became a burglar. You know, the thrill of picking a door's lock, finding the house empty, then searching for.....
Typically the missus and I use January first for a big cleanup. We started a few days ago I am happy to say, but I did not intend to clean up my blooger page. I am disgusted to say that BLOOGER ate my favorites link section. I will rewrite the whole darn thing from scratch, maybe not this minute....
but cleaning is not as fun as making pots. But new water and heater filters are needed, various piles of boxes should be sorted, same thing with the book and magazine pile and the refrigerator. It is satisfying, in the end, to start the new year with a clean and tidy house.
As for resolutions, I am fit, so do not have resolutions along those lines, nor do we have any debts or strange spending habits to reduce nor do I wish a new job. One perenniel resolution is 'only good pots out of the house' which seems obvious and simple, and it is, but one must always pull out stuff that is dented or cracked as a second, because your work represents you, and you want the world to see the BEST. I am adding this resolution this year, 'wear black jeans more often' which I did yesterday and today. They show less mud. I enjoy the company of my wife a great deal, and shall do what I can to spend time with her. Nothing new there.
En fin, 2006 was a fantastic year, one of the very best of my life. Said goodbye to New Hampshire, my old truck, and very sadly, my sweet little nearly-19-year old dog Petey. Said hello to an awesome purple house in an awesome little city and the best neighbors and friends anywhere. The missus had been laid off in NH, found terrific work here. My studio is FAB and looks out at a river full of ducks. My parents were so nice and helpful...it was a great year. I also met many of you bloogers, and want to see you again, and some new folks in 007.

Hmm ... I didn't even connect the New Year's to cleaning, but did it anyway. We spent the afternoon converting the rarely used guest bedroom into an exercise room. Mom-in-law has a treadmill that encroaches on the living room to much and our Gazelle thing get buried behind the stuff in the rec room. Hmmm. No excuses now. Darn.
