ME: ON SATURDAY
HA! I never go anywhere. Not true Saturday! I live about exactly halfway between Toronto, Ontario and New York, NY. Despite having lived in Cleveland, Chicago and Boston, and still liking those baseball teams, I am a NEW YORKER now, and a Yankees fan. This spring, I have purchased 2 Yanks shirts and 2 caps, and it all pays off tomorrow. I am going on a Cornell University bus trip to Toronto to see the Yanks play the Blue Jays (I know! A whole different country! Do they speak English? Do I need a visa? Will they beat the crap out of me for wearing a Yankees t-shirt????????????????)
(OK, I know, I have been to Quebec and Ontario about ten times in the last 3 years, I know the drill....)
So, the glaze buckets that need filling are still empty, the little sculptures remain unformed lumps of clay, but I am doing more important things than work right now: filling up my cheapo, free 'IPOD'!!!!!!! (I have never used such a thing, my life is CHANGED) You know there's Tears for Fears on there, B 52's, and rather a lot of Godsmack. My ears hurt already and I havn't gone anywhere yet.
What does a VEGAN like me eat at the ballpark???? The peanut butter sandwiches and apples in his backpack.

Don't forget your shots, too. And I don't mean the tequila kind. Not this time, anyway.
you've lived in Cleveland?! Wifester is from Cleveland! Hey, go by Wifester's mom's new blog, and read her Cleveland insights...blog.pabees.org
Rock on, Cookies; and Celeste, you're right, I better call the vet and make sure my distemper is current. Rabies too.
You know, if you look at this photo, am I alone in noticing a little something, er, Freudian? Oh, maybe, you know, sort of a phallic symbol next to, say, an ovoid opening in the roof of the stadium....
man, are Canadians oversexed? lewd? Or is it me?
Oversexed? Is that even possible? You Yanks are so prudish.
Cleveland, of course, Rocks!
Sounds like you're about to have a GREAT time. There's no other sport like baseball. It's always been our fav. Of course, we're Astros fans - even when they suck!
*snicker* I'm imagining Gary with a distemper, or rabies!
I have remained a Seattle fan, even though I am far away. Such a sucker, huh?
Have a GREAT time!!
And tell me, do we need passports to cross the northern border? My kids have never been! Another one of those things on the "to-do" list...
Passports: YES, in order to get back into the US!!! Thanks W!!!!
Hmm, the Astros, I wonder if they are a hockey team or maybe football or is it little league baseball?
no passport needed before 2009. but be sure they have IDs. it's best to travel with both parents otherwise the border officer might suspect kidnapping. i kid you not!
Canadians? Oversexed? Puleeze! Just because we have those in Toronto and in Calgary, the Saddledome & Calgary tower?
Whatever do you think we do here in the very long cold winters? ;)
Did you know that Babe Ruth scored his first home run here in Toronto?
Legendary baseball player Babe Ruth hit his first professional home run in Toronto on September 5, 1914. He was playing for the minor league AAA team the Providence Grays against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Island Stadium, which stood on Hanlan's Point, near where the Island Airport is now. The ball landed in the bay.
Have a great time, tomorrow, Gary!
EH
Have a fun time---and you know they sell peanuts at the ball park, right? Also, they have those big pretzels.
And of course a good icy cold beer!

oh yes, peanuts and pretzels and beer: VEGAN STAPLES!
Hey, Babe Ruth, how 'bout that?
To add to CM's comment, there's loads of baseball history in Canada. He wasn't a Yankee, but after being signed by the Dodgers, Jackie Robinson played with the 1946 season with their farm team the Montreal Royals. He led the International League with both batting average (0.349) and fielding percentage (0.985!)that year and moved up the next.
You mean in today's time and with our meal choices and variety they don't have "veggie dogs" at the ball park? Seriously!
Do they still have popcorn?
Hey, Malted Barley has protein and some fat....that can sustain a person. But, I don't think beer goes well with apples and peanut butter....LOL!
BTW? How did you do that writing on your picture thingie? Chatty does that too and I don't know how.
