dream videos and dog dreams

I was planning something really raucous this morning, but it is so quiet and peaceful, let's go with Filter for tunes o' the day. The song and video are based on a dream the lead singer had one night. Sadly, in my opinon, the music is great, the video is strange.

Golly, such dreams last night. The last was worth avoiding: me, back in a new high school, our former neighbor-from-hell's menacing German Shepherd popping up in hallways here and there...

I have to confess that I think only extroverts see privacy as something we should banish. Introverts see privacy as like breathable air. Whenever people talk about banishing it we start to feel panicky like someone was talking about shoving us out into the vacuum of space. Other than that, the song was nice enough. I like the pigs. But I really like the cups and vases.

Marian, I am hopeful that with your help, we can have one hundred comments on a post someday. (oh yes, I remember that day when you tagged it first)
Will be watching the Internationalist news, and wishing your family the best, thanks for hanging around here!

I'm doing my best to create controversy. How is it working out?

I should have used the word talking less, I think.

Marian, you ARE a troublemaker, aren't you? At least you're a progressive.

If you want to reach one hundred in the comments section, you probably need more than just me. One (at least one) conservative, one devil's advocate, one relativist and a few ham sandwiches would also help.

Marian, I have to wonder how a busy mother of two living through a revolution has time to waste on my stupid blog? I am honored. I will not, however, invite conservatives here to argue over the cups vs mugs controversy, or the footring vs carved bowl bottom situation. I am glad to have your company here, and at gen x at 40. You and your family are also welcome to vacation at our house, next time you find yourself in North America.
I just put up Kasabian's 'club foot' video, and later thought 'omg! I hope Budapest doesn't get like that for Marian!', and all the other Hungarians.

Normally, my husband and I do child care in shifts. He works as a freelance English language announcer and translator who does commercials and stuff. So he schedules his work in the morning, mostly. My shift with the kids (who are two and four) is in the morning. I am supposedly writing a doctoral thesis in the afternoon (don't laugh, because I really am). But you're right. The day I argued for hours with the Genx40 crew, I was visiting with my mom in Ottawa and it was also a rare occasion without kids.

The Hungarian revolution is in a lull at the moment. I have a cold now so am feeling dumb and am not writing. If I leave the office though I will probably be swarmed with requests for juice and cheese. That leaves...blogging.

Well, thank you for the window on your life! So, it isn't all storming the barricades with one child on your back, the other on your left hip, bricks and anarchy in your right hand? And the PhD is about.....???

My PhD is in Philosophy. My area of specialisation is moral and political philosophy.

Aha! Marian, that is not a surprise. Why don't more people study philosphy? Isn't that where it all begins? No wonder you are such a master of the artful word and argument.
Do Hungarian, or Hungarian/Canadian, children celebrate Halloween?

Unfortunately, no. I may try something this year if I can track down a pumpkin.

I am wondering if l is marian. Seems likely. I am full of nosy questions, so shut me down if I ask too much. Such as, marian, would you say your bilingual skills are good? Did you learn Hungarian by the seat of your pants? Sounds like your husband has perfect English. Are your kids comfortable with both languages?
