frogs, green glazes, and two minds

(wicked cool little plate with a frog by Gary Rith)
As you see below, I am fiddling with green glaze recipes at home. When I work at Cornell's studio, I can use the glaze on the plate above and MAN I LOVE THAT GLAZE. I LOOOOOVVVVVE IT! I have the recipe. I traded my red glaze recipe for it. BUT, I don't have the ingredients yet at home, and need to go to the ceramic supplier soon for that very reason....
I am keeping this cute little plate for myself, and unlike the usual things I keep for household use, it is not chipped dented or cracked! It's mine mine mine!

That IS a gorgeous green, Gary. You really should keep some good stuff for yourself: you've earned it. :-)

Oh, I like the new header pic, too.

I think it's fair to keep some of your own work. And not just chipped ones - I usually try to keep all my firsts of any new style I learn. (in jewelry making)

Gary, this is a lovely piece!
Funny, I imagine your cupboards full of interesting and wonderful dishes. I know *some* of them aren't "seconds!" How do you ever choose which ones to use?!?

You're right, the cupboard is a tetery mess of plates, bowls and mugs.
