Can I claim that these choices were unconscious? Wearing my black dog tee, making a number of doggy bowls today, buying a red wine with 2 kids and a black lab on the label? Who wouldn't buy a bottle of wine with a black lab on the label??????
So, we have had cheerful little wakes the last two evenings, I think we should go for a third....

we had a BBQ--he would usually nose in and try to get snacks from us

A wake is a lovely thing.
You've made me think of my favorite lab-mix dog, Zelda. She's getting old and slow, and I will grieve when she is gone. She was the first dog that my kids weren't afraid of. I miss her AND her owner (my BFF).
So, in honor of Jack, I called yesterday and talked for over an hour.
