black pots! well, chocolatey
(pots by Gary Rith)
When I teach or simply hang around making pots at the Cornell University Pot Shop, I have a choice of different clay and glazes from the home studio. This summer I have used, for the first time in maybe 20 plus years, a brown clay and black glazes. It has been hard to get used to, because I am a white clay/bright glaze guy, but wicked good fun in the end.

I absolutely adore these!!! The dark clay and glaze is perfect!! Ummm, just what exactly are the figures on the bowls? I'm seriously thinking Christmas presents here!!!!
Zebra up top, little dogs down on bowls and sugar bowl. keep watching, more pictured later...
Extending one's talents and challenging your abilities is always a good thing, Gary. As we can see from these pots.
*GASP* I LOVE THEM! If I like animals I would be bombarding you with orders.
I really like the resulting colour. They are very beautiful.
