My old pal Farmer's Wife writes in with a kinky request:
"My__________said 'now, a soup bowl attached to a salad plate, that would be a really useful item', so Gary, do you think you could make this?" (OK, I am reconstructing the quote here, but that's the gist of it)
But I sorta forgot about it but she is persistant, and I promised to try.
People come up with the oddest ideas. But it is easy to see this would be useful, especially if we are giving it to a bachelor, and it is a good idea, but I ask
"Hey, where shall I put the piggy? Maybe a couple of frogs????"
OK, so I figured the bowl should be roughly straight sided so it would attach easily to the plate. My wife said
"But its so big! Will it shrink?" (it is 14-15 inches across, as you see) It will shrink a little with firing, but I am guessing that the average Texan and his lunch would want a big bowl of veggie chili and a monstrously huge salad or tofu burger on the side.
Hope the darn thing doesn't crack or explode or.....

You could put a little dog on the side of the plate? Or, maybe looking into the soup bowl? If you needed that as your insignia. ;)

That is an ingenious idea, and a brilliant design! How many times have I wished for such a similar thing and yet could not describe it? I often put a bowl on top of a plate, but it slides all around--a mess! This is a problem solver!
