the vet

(Penny and Mister Potsblog)
The traveling vet came over yesterday, mostly for Penny's yearly shots and such. Penny was 19 pounds a year ago when she came home from the shelter, but got down to a very skinny 15 over the summer, and we were told to stuff her, and she is now 21 and the brakes are on: she's in good shape, no more weight. She eats eveything, of course: onions, cigarette butts and rocks on the street, grass, dirt.....

The vet said of our old dog Jack: 'every month he's alive is a surprise'. Jack is doing alright, and he's certainly cheerful enough. Our old cat Emily is 'frail', but again, she's mighty happy, so....
Spike was 13 pounds last summer, a huge cat. Now he's 18.5 and ON A DIET. Large cats do NOT like diets...

You know what they say...dogs have owners, cats have staff. I am sure Spike is plotting how to get even for the food reduction. Better watch out!

Awww, cute pic of you and the pup. Very sweet. And, I can't access gmail at work and I've been living at work this week so PLEASE know that I haven't flaked on you about the wine corks.

My cat in his prime was 20.5 lbs---not fat---just a big male cat. Fortunately he never needed a diet... and he lost so much weight as he aged. Sad... He was only about 5 lbs at the end...

That is a cute pic of Penny!

Adorable! Our cats will get back to their skinny selves once they're back to running all day and catching critters! It was a long indoorsy snowy winter!!
