Pure: Jack!
Jack is purely sweet. Unlike his little sister, Penny the beagle, who is not exactly an angel, Jack is purely loving and always a good dog and friend. His little sister of course is adorable and loving, but doesn't really care if she is naughty. I guess that's the difference between Labs and beagles.

Sometimes I think we've missed the boat as parents by not having a dog. Labs are great. Beagles are cute, but not when they howl at all hours of the day & night. (We had neighbors with 3 beagles and a baby. Guess who got the attention?)
beagles are really LOUD. Beagle is derived from bugle you know! She is totally sweet and adorable, and I am teaching her to dance (oh that's useful, huh? she should be working on the 'come' thing) All Jack wants to do is cuddle and chase his ball.
Our old neighbors had a beagle, enough said.
We have a big old black lab and I was going to post his picture as "PURE LOVE", but I couldn't get a good shot. (me and my last minute ideas)It's very hard to get a good detailed picture of a black dog. Nice work as always!
Wish I'd had a better experience with labs. Had one, black, natch, named Schroeder, after the little piano genius in "Peanuts". Only trouble with him was I think he must have been brain-damaged. Totally untrainable, and a young man who professed great experience with 'training' labs loved him so much, so I said, handing him collar and leash, "Take him. He's yours!" He came back a LOT later, and, guess what? He STILL wouldn't mind. The coup de grace was when a neighbor came bringing him back and announced he'd broken through their swimming pool cover and almost drowned. NOT a happy man! Quite expensive for me, too.
Never had a lab, but a friend did and yes, they are sweet and lovable.
