Bachelor day

So, up and at 'em at 4. The wife is on a day trip to see her sisters in Manhattan. As a Cornell employee she can ride down and back for something absurdly cheap like 30 bucks round trip. I suppose most people go to shop and dinner and museums, and she will, but she is lucky as both her sisters are New Yorkers. I get to hold down the fort. I'd go with, but it would be hard to explain to the dog sitter how to take care of Jack, who is very elderly mentally and physically and it takes some understanding. I volunteered to drive so the car would not be marooned on campus until she returns at one am, and I am thinking this may give me a chance to go down to the bakery and sit around like a Parisian (or Ithacan) reading the paper and eating a cookie the size of a plate (small plate, but a plate indeed) before going to the library. I dream big, don't I? And maybe episodes of The Office later and Ghostbusters!
This of course, would be in addition to work and cleaning. I am the house husband, and recent rains mean the downstairs is paved in mud, and now our pal kcinnova says she is desperate for plates, so I should make those.
AND I had a message from some strangers who found the blog and want to visit and do a school paper on me. Ha! I am so boring!!!!!! We'll see if they call.

Does Maude take a bus, Gary? or the train? Hummm - is there a train from way up there, down to the city?

It's beautiful today. We're puttering around the yard moving plants from the front garden to the new back garden. Then on to mow the lawn in a bit. Thunderstorms predicted by 4pm.

Look at that, nothing to do but eat plate-sized cookies (didn't you have 3 of those just a few days ago?) and make plates for me! So nice, you are! :)

stuffed my belly, yes indeedy....
I am not in the mood to make plates right now though ::slacker::
and Kate, there is no train here, just a bus. I did have visitors, wonderful folks, more on that later.
(and Kate--our beautiful morning went south and it is freezing and rainy now....)

Ok - lawn mowed, plants planted. It's getting cloudy and quite windy here. It can rain all weekend now, if it wants to! :)

Actually - I'm kinda secretly hoping for the rain, then I won't have to go to the race track and watch my son race his stock car tonight! hehe!
