- Gary Rith is a full-time studio potter and also an instructor of pottery at Cornell University's Pot Shop. Gary started learning pottery in 1983. In 1985 he served as an apprentice to Dean White of Deansboro, NY and earned a bachelor's degree in art from Bennington College in 1987. He has been a full-time sculptor and potter since 1997. Gary started his business in New Hamspshire, where he was selected as a member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen in 2004 and in 2005 was named one of New Hampshire's Emerging Ceramics Artists. He moved to the Ithaca, NY area in 2006, near where he grew up, and is happily making pots and sculpture in a purple house on Fall Creek. Gary likes to laugh, and his first goal is to have fun making pots.

Canadians seem to love bacon, eh? Big D--well, zero actually, but at least you only have to pay me ONCE in order to buy te item.

My dear wife watches too many cartoons. She actually thought that if you bought a pottery bank you had to smash it to get the moolah out...

well, that would be good for my business, wouldn't it? people need a new bank every 3 months....
With the antique piggy banks, you really did have to smash them! Guess it had to be for something real important to get $$.
I know. Older folks always stop me and tell me that you houldn't be able to get the money out! But, you know, change isn't what it once was, and people want to dump their change, then open it up to do laundry, pay for parking, or get a car wash.
