missing person found dead just beyond my back yard?

I am out of it. I seem to live in my own cloud, or is it a fog? The police, ambulances, fire trucks and whatnot have been next door in the woods on the riverbank all day doing something. Somebody just told me it was that guy who had been missing all week. I didn't know anybody was missing. A dead body has been sitting in its car all week next to my house and I never noticed?

There has to be a potter joke in there. Herself wonders whether you noticed the turkey vultures.

Well, I hate to be flippant and joking around here, but...
the thing is, we never walk the dogs that way. We go out the gate and turn RIGHT. If we had ever gone LEFT, there it would be. I wonder if this happened during the alomst tornado the other day? You would not have been able to hear anything.

kinda gives one the shudders and makes you wonder at how people could ever say "I never saw/heard a thing!".. and now you can undestand how....

reminds me of a time when....

Oh it is true. never noticed a thing, and the body was there a week. Turns out it was an older fellow who had a heart attack while drivng and plowed through a pile of thick woods. Not easy to see. People look at us like we must be dullards for not noticing. But as I say, we don't walk that way.

This is the kind of spooky situation that 'spooky' was invented for. It'd make a darn good base for a horror flic/short story.

I forgot to mention...We had a lady go off into a field here on our road (walking), a couple of years ago. She was found dead in the winter by a couple of snowmobilers. Funny thing is, I had seen a strange woman walking down past my house a month or so before and thought it odd that she had on 'dressy' 'slingback' shoes. I figured her car had conked out and she was walking to get help. Turns out...it was her. Committed suicide. Now I wish I had opened my door and asked if she was ok.

Wow Kate and Jim.
I, ahem, would not want to find a week old body in a car after a hot week....
still not sure how ths got past us. There will be strong drinks again tonight, like last night. It is all a little freaky.
