the babies

Mrs. Robinson had four eggs and her they have grown so quickly! Bald last week, suddenly they are little adolescent robins. They live under our deck, an it is hard to imagine a more public place, with us and the dogs going by all the time. We leave them alone. New camera made getting this pic easy!

When I was growing up, we had a nest of robins on top of the outside light at the back door. Almost every year. IOnce the babies hatched, it generally became quite danerous to walk near the nest because Mama robin would dive bomb anyone. This made it difficult for my Mom because the house-end of the clothesline was at teh back door, four feet from the next.

Eventually Dad changed the fixture so that they couldn't build a nest there. That's the year that they switched to the forsythia bush beside the front door. THAT made it difficult to go in and out the door ... LOL

One of them decided to try flying right after these pics and Penny killed it. Sigh....

Beagles WILL eat anything. Our first dog, Toby, was part beagle and she liked nothing better than to get hold of old coffee grounds from the garbage. Ecch.

no kidding! I wish all she wanted was old coffee grounds...
