too many teapots
BR is running me ragged, making different teapots. He's worth it though. Me and teapots go way back: when I was in college, a girlfriend told me pottery students shouldn't be able to graduate unless they could make a dripless teapot. Nobody paid any attention to her and she was an insane fool, but I started making teapots then and still like to make them. The one on the back right is a huge monster though, I wonder if I have a handle big enough?

AH, but are they dripless? That is the important question that I keep forgetting to ask.
Good question. You can't possibly imagine I try them out, that I might actually drink tea?
(actually--my teapots are pretty damn good in every respect)
So what's the secret to the dripless tea pot?
Have you ever seen or made the teacups that have solid flowers or butterflies for the handle? I have some really fine bone china tea cups like this and they are quite rare and expensive! I also have creamers, sugar bowls and teapots like this.
There are many sneaky potters hanging around this site looking for secrets, but I guess I can let this secret out:
DRIPLESS TEAPOT SUCCESS:(at least you hope it doesn't drip too much)
1) even flow and pouring, helped by that little hole in the lid
2) use your soft, fine paintbrush and brush out the lip of the spout, in the direction the tea pours out. Should give a nice and fine lip.
3) make a million teapots. hopefully after a few years, they get better and better. I made my first teapot 22 years ago. It didn't drip too much, and it looked pretty good, but the insane ex-girlfriend.......well, you can imagine what she did with it. I made more!
Been having a lot of tea lately and it's been especually good with the cold/cough. Currently working on a handheld tea-tray until the tea cart gets done. hmmm must get some pics this weekend.
All looks good Mr Potter!
I wanna see that greg! beautiful!
I can attest to the fact that my small gr-made teapot is indeed dripless.
cm, I bet you could use a bigger one, with bunnies!
who was that insane ex-gf?
A dripless tea pot is, indeed, a wonderful thing to have.
ok.. so what meaning-of-lif can we attribute to the oh-so-sought dripless teapot? form... function...colour.. etc ;)
is there a feng shui of tea pottery/service( as in the collection of pottery- a tea service)?
Greg, extra important with your elephant teaset: on a nice wooden table.
Denis (whisper, whisper c'mon, you were there, whisper, alright...): K.
I know, there were several insane girlfriends.
Wait, did you say you don't drink tea? What?
I love the far back one. It's really neat and original.
Too bad I don't like tea either... Very sad.
I DRINK ALL KINDS OF TEA! but prefer coffee
well I am SURE you anti-tea people can put coffee into the pots as well. I've done it and works fine :)
holy cow man. I ordered ONE teapot. You must be up to 5 by now. they all look wicked-cool man (kids used to talk like that around here). I noticed the two new cups as well Mr. Potter, (say it like Epstein used to say Kotter - Ka-tair) I know what you're up to!

BR, open up your wallet, take a deep breath, and empty it into my hand. You'll feel better afterwards, and I will too.
No no no, you'll only get what you want of course, but somebody mentioned a yellow teapot with two cups???
Good lord, did he just say he puts coffee in a teapot? Sacrilege!
That was me, by the way. Stupid blogger.
sounds unnatural, doesn't it?
Wrong, in so very many ways.
a crime against nature even...
