weekly photo challenge: foreign and domestic!
(Madame Pottersblog photographs Mister Pottersblog making a black and tan with his cool Guinness bartender's spoon)
Tink's weekly photo challenge is foreign and domestic. We must keep in mind that it was March 17 yesterday, and therefore we have a foreign beer from Ireland and a domestic beer from Boston, happily poured together for a black and tan--my favorite.
My own ancestry, aside from some English, Welsh, German and maybe Hungarian, consists of Irish in great amounts: from BOTH sides, northern protestent AND Irish Catholic. Explains a lot, doesn't it?

I work in the beer industry and I never knew how they made a "black and tan". :)
Great entry! The beer looks yummy.
mmmm LOVE black & tans!
ohh and Crown Floats too! ;)
pale ale first, Tink, then stout in a draft can poured over a spoon on top--works easly, looks and tastes great, and Grego, say what?
Crown float!... A pint class
Mead
Slowly (how else) pour Guinness over spoon to float on top.. about 1-2" of Guinness
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
There's a sports bar in Cleveland that serves Black and Blue, which is Guinness and Labatt's Blue. I didn't try it.
Also, by way of boingboing, Guinness Cupcakes.
Ahhh, great minds and all that good stuff. Go look at my photos. Oh and where does one get that cool spoon? My hubby would LOVE one!
let's keep the Labatt's out of it, OK?
beer cupcakes!
some sort of Guinness mail-in promotion a few years ago, but I wonder if there is an online Guiness store?

as close as I shall get to Dublin this spring.....
guinness made it to my wwc too :)
I found you from tink's, so glad I did, you have great pottery!!!
a new fortune cookie friend, yeow!
thanks!
Interesting shot and that combination sounds different. I'm not much of a beer drinker and can't do any stout beer at all. I'd be under the table in 3 minutes flat!!
Good interpretation!
Guinness are taking over this week's WWC!
you said it Joel, but maybe not surprising the day after March 17
I'll second "MMmmmm Guinness."
A crown float sounds, um, like not my bag. I like meade ok by itself, but with Guinness??
I need a bartenders spoon.
Exactly where my mind went when I heard the theme for the week, but didn't do too well with it. Mine are up at The Cafe.
Oh, this is too funny - I also posted foreign and domestic beer, and my foreign choice was also Guinness! Your picture is far more interesting, however, and now I want to learn to make a black and tan! Also, I just love the elephant tea pot and that wonderful picture of Odie! Our backgrounds are similar, btw - I'm Scots, Irish, English, Welsh and German. Hey - is the yellow teapot below the picture of your house a new one using the hand-thrown technique like the beautiful blue one a couple of weeks ago? It's wonderful and I love the colors!
Hmmm. we have much of the same ancestry too--- Hungarian, English, Irish, Welsh, German. (Plus I have Swiss and French thrown in, you know, for excellent chocolate appreciation.)
The hubster LOVES those. OF course he just loves Guiness in general.
Allergic to hops, so I didn't go that route, but I do like the photo.
ah, so glad to see a Guinness!
Well played. :)
I was going to photograph the current collection of beer---and I might still!--but you'll have to wait. I'll probably do both challenges together this week.
