paper and ceramics

(pottery by Gary Rith, origami by Missus Pottersblog)
It feels like Tink's Tuesday photo challenge is custom made for me. This is the first photo challenge where I was able to use my new home-made light box. Luminous!

That light box does wonders, doesn't it?

I am having a paper crane for lunch today!

Well, since it's paper, I guess it's permissible. Will you be having it baked, stewed or sauteed? Nice work, though, both of you!!!

The bow-tie money on the pig is absolutely perfect!
And yes, I agree, I think Tink is brown-nosing this week...she must want something from you...free shipping?

your work is so gorgeous!

What a smart idea to use a lightbox!!

gr said...

um, you may be correct, Tink DOES want something from me and shipping is expensive!

Since you mentioned a few WWC's back that you worked in clay I was waiting for Tink to say Clay (or ceramic) :) Nice photos, excellent craftsmanship.

Looking back at your pictures of Cornell I sometimes pine for the beauty of upstate NY in winter (my old home was near Albany) Then I remember how freekin cold it gets and how long it lasts and I get over it pretty quick. :)

g-man, winter is a stinker, believe me, I am sick of it and hae been since December!

Well, this week's words...tailor-made much? Did you buy Miss Tink some Bacardi or something? You put my origami to shame, but that's to be expected. I could barely get my boat to float! I love the piggy and his made o' money tie - and how perfect that it works on two levels - ceramic and paper/piggy bank and money. Very nice. I am also going to use this comment to tell you that the picture of Cornell is magnificent - it looks like something out of a gothic novel (a GOOD gothic novel, that is); and I, too, love Creed. They are from the Tallahassee area, and my best friend from childhood, who lives there now, got to hear them in local clubs until they took off nationally, so I had heard some of their music way back when and liked them from the start.

Wow, very nice work and very nice WWC pictures. Love them! Pig with money is too cute. And I really like the last one with the bird on the plate, it's a very eye catching photograph.

Love the pig with his cork nose and money bow tie. The Crane is beautiful as is the plate.

P.S. love the photo below of the falls & hydro plant.

Definitely think you had an unfair advantage this week! However, that may just be the sour grapes talking. These pictures are amazing! Love them!
