trash and treasure for the weekly photo challenge

(treasure: elephant teapot by Gary Rith, trash: tiki cup from a garage sale)
There is no question that tiki has its appeal, and longtime readers remember that I made a bunch of tiki last spring. Then it was out of my system. But basically, we're talking trash. This teapot came out of the kiln last month and I havn't put it up for sale yet, it is just too cute, I like to have it sitting there in the studio.
So, Tink's weekly photo challenge was for treasure and trash. Let me tell you, I wander around and look at other people's submissions and realize how impressive theirs are, and how terrible mine is. People take her challenge seriously! So, thanks for the visits and nice comments, but lord, it is a talented field.

ah but Gary, not many of the pictures contain something that the person themselves made I'll wager. And that pot is hard to beat, I just want to cuddle it!

cuddle it!

the other one you want to fill with a fruity rum drink and a little paper unbrella

Hoop loves Tiki.

Wow, that sounded like it came out of the mouth of a five year old.

Great entry as usual. Shut up with your doubts already. ;)

You may only put up one picture, but that is all it takes. Wow, I love that pot! I like the Tiki cup too.

I read fruity rum and got distracted. I think you might just have two treasures. I really love that tea set. You create some beautiful art.

Ah, but you challenge me to go for quality instead of quantity. And I *love* drooling over your blue pitchers. Let's see, upcoming holidays include Mother's Day (but I've already got my gift coming for that) ...hey, maybe I should get some blue pottery for Memorial Day? Oooh, and some red, too...
[rubs hands gleefully and plots her purchases]

I still find tikis a bit scarifying, but OH, your new little elephant teapot! Did you get my emails re mine (soon to be)?

Well your single photo blew away 3/4 of the competition. So, stand tall and be proud.
If that teapot ever goes missing, don't come to Tennessee looking for it ;)

Well done. You do great work. It is not the amount of pictures you take or even if your pictures are good (yours is good by the way) but the participation with others that is important.

Besides how many of the rest of us can make an elephant teapot?
