I mentioned last week that Julie at Cornell had shown how to throw a teapot handle on the wheel. This little teapot is my first try and looking pretty good. The speckly denim-colored glaze here called Opal resembles what my own blue jeans glaze looked like before I changed it, so I think it is time to revive my original glaze and call it 'classic or original blue jeans'.

I really love that nice round handle---a perfect circle effect.
First, Australian fire opals are usually based on ythis shade of blue - it's the Oriental opals that are white-based. Sedond the glaze could be considered opalescent, right? Whatever the name, it is wonderful. If this is a first effort, your other stuff must belong in a museum! I'm going to have to check out your online shop - I collect teapots...
