blue Bellarmine bottle

(by Gary Rith)
Another Bellarmine, or witch bottle!
OK, 7 am, and we're back to this DARK early morning stuff. No doubt I will appreciate daylight until late in the eveniing, but at the moment it is 5 degrees or less and snowing and looks and feels a lot like January (been there, DONE that!). I recall many March days, such as March 31, 2006 the day we bought this house and moved in, where the temps top 70 degrees. Bring it on.

Great looking bottle, Gary. I love those things.

I was just saying to my brother yesterday that we probably won't make it to the cottage this month. Last year, we were there on the 31st and it was sweater and light jacket weather. I was hopping ice floes to collect some water. :-)

I remember having a picnic on a hillside back around the 1st week of March in 1977. It was so warm and beautiful. But of course, unusual.

We're just picking up the storm you guys had a week or so back. It got tired of playing in mid-Atlantic, so it seems, and now it's giving Ireland, Wales and Southern England a bit of a bash. Haven't heard of it carrying any snow. You can keep the snow. Just take pictures so's I can go 'Aah' without freezing me toes off... :-)

I think your bottles there need filling with a wonder elixir** to help ward off this March weather!.. hmm I'll make a few wooden bungs for the bottles too! (what's the opening measurements???)

** The mead will soon be bottled!
