a piggy card holder and I HAVE SEEN THE FUTURE

(pig by Gary Rith)
So, as I said a week ago, sometimes you need a new card holder, and a pig is called for, and voila! Happiness.
I bought this groovy new book yesterday, 500 animals, and YES I had entered the publisher's contest, and didn't get in, d#mn them, but it is a delicious book nonetheless. Sure, there is some cr#p, junk and artsy farty animals in there, but most are pretty exciting and wonderful, although it should have included me. I am not bitter. No.
OK, the future. Every winter has its theme--there were pigs a few years ago, which lingers, then elephants, a lot of hippos and zebras for me last winter, there was also some brief flirtation with unicorns on pots (I make a great unicorn, even if it is a ridiculous item to make, OK?)and nowwwwwwwwwwwww......
GNOMES. I see myself doing a lot with gnomes winter 2007-2008. I saw many gnomes in many states yesterday, and I have a few little ideas bouncing around.

Oh, and I totally agree with you on the book. It SHOULD have included you. I have the teapot one, and I can't believe some of the crap they put in there...and why put in four of the same potter's work that all looked essentially the same?

Oh goodie---I love gnomes.

I know it's a bit cliche to say that, but they are charming.

I just love those red pointy hats, and the way they seem to have an attitude, like, "Hey! I am a GNOME!!"

Ellen, I have applied for a couple of those books without success, but, you know, I didn't pay off the judge or sleep with the right people.
Susan, you will need gnome stuff in your new house, I am sure of it.

Well, I suppose gnomes are better than unicorns. At least gnomes exist.

As long as they're gnomes with gargoyle faces. Otherwise, you might as well me making pink flamingos. Ugh.

'lovin you is easy 'cause you're beautiful....'

what is wrong with pink flamingos?

some of us are quite partial to them.

and if anyone can make a great pink flamingo ceramic product it would be this man right here

(and yes, if enough of your friends get in their minds to send/make you pink flamingo items year after year, a person can acquire some beautiful pink flamingo stuff)

If I had a lawn, it would be full of pink flamingos. And the odd gnome.

Listen, I have made a small flamingo, it looks pretty good too. Still havn't tried gnomes.
Debi, be as loud and obnoxious as you like, have I met you? Have you ordered from me? My memory is terrible.

Yes, I bought the yellow bunny mug.
I understand about your memory. Too many years breathing clay fumes. With me, I just too old...

Ah. But I have made quite a few yellow bunny mugs, well, anyway.......
