I am, as I say, embarking on a study of gnomes. I will no doubt receive abuse from the usual suspects (GORDO, CELESTE, DENIS, GREG, CM) and teasing and sharp remarks and cold and cruel jokes. I can weather this storm, as I managed the whole Unicorn scandal earlier in 2007. I have to warn you, I have been asked to work on dragons and wizards too, which will also bring abuse down on my head from these small minded people (see above all-caps list).
I think we need an appropriately schmaltzy tune for the day. When the missus asks if I lost something important or asks what she is getting for Christmas, I always break out in song, as a gnome would, no doubt. I like to sing Minnie Ripperton's "Loving You' to try and distract the wife. The words go something like this:
'Loving you is easy 'cause you're beautiful....du dun duu du du awwwwww awwwwwwwwww' etc. My thinking is 'what can she say when I am singing such tender things? I bet she forgets the question!'

Make them scary gnomes and we're all good. I, for one, happen to like dragons.
To quote Bill the Cat: "Thbbbppppttt!"
I'm on board with gnomes and dragons. Not so much with the wizards, but they're a d@mn sight better than un!corns.
As long as the gnome brings his own booze.
GNOME-body knows.. the trouble I've seeen... lalalala ;)
You'd know trouble, wouldn't you, Greg-o?
'lalala, lalala, laalaa laaa laaa...'
I should admit that the wife finds this tune very irritating. But just so long as she forgets her question, mission accomplished. I also sometimes sing Paul McCartney's 'some people want to fill the world with silly love songs...what's wrong with that, I'd like to know....'. She doesn't mind that tune as much.
i know the mrs. is too smart to forget the question...i bet she's just humoring you.
please don't make a traditional gnome. make a funky one instead!
I would never mock a gnome.
I have heard they hold a grudge.
Like this guy, Denis?

I am sure gary could put a red hat on a picture of you gordo and it would be a spittin' image! ;)

cheers Gary, I can't get that flamin la la la la la song out of my head now - the staff here thank you too :D
I can whistle the little bird chirps too.
It IS a flamin' song, true enough.
yeah, gordo, something like that but only a lot sexier and colourful, i.e. purple to match the house.
Oh my word, a laughing Buddha gnome! Thanks, Gordo! Can't help wondering what he brought on e-Bay.
