hee!

Hee hee! The wife found a four leaf clover this morning and gave it to me and then I found one and gave it to her and.....HA! Excused from the jury. You will notice here my little satisfied smile.
So, a case of renter slipping on ice suing the landlord, etc. I told the court that 4 of my 5 children were very sick and so they excused me.
Actually, there was a large jury pool, my name was not selected and I was not interviewed and I was free at one.
YES.

Well...at least I can be 1st 'somewhere'...so I guess this is it! ha! I couldn't believe you got to Louise! I figured you'd be booked up all day! lol!

Grand thing, you didn't get selected. But now I think they can call you again, right?

Glad you're having a much happier day, now.

The important thing is, did they feed you?

Well, CM, no. When I did fake jury excercises at the law school, there was a rather fantastic catered lunch. This was 4 hours sitting there watching lawyers drone on and on...but the lucky part is I didn't have a week of it.

I'm rather dismayed at the continued dismantling of the notion of personal responsibility that this case embodies, Gary. Am I the only person in the world who slips and says "Fool, pay attention next time"?

Gord, I know what you mean, but I wonder if it came all the way to the Supreme NY Court if there might be something to this particular case? Regular neglect, repeated falls and a slum landlord who didn't take care of the problem?
