stein with partying piggies

My old pal Alan wondered last week if the niche pig idea could be expended, and a pair of celebrating pigs could clink mugs together, on a stein. On the surface of it, it is yet another foolish and silly idea from Alan, like the boot mug, but a moments thought showed the brilliance. So, a large stein was made and a niche created, easy enough, then a pair of pigs, still easy, but then the teeny tiny little mugs. I sometimes make minitures, and this pair was made on the wheel like big mugs, and each is smaller than a fingernail.

That is a winner. And when you are selling hundreds of pottery boot beer mugs to celebrities and the international jet set in a few years when they catch on you can thank me for that too!

Aha! I thought that niche was a bit large for a cat. You are tricky. Must look more carefully at the unfinished work in the future.

We have a Christmas boot at home. About 6" high, plastic, and we pull it out every year. No idea why or where it came from.

lalalala unhinged Canadians lalalalala

Unhinged Canadian trivia for you, Gary: Ever heard of a glass boot or turkey raffle? Glass boot is code for booze. Raffling a bottle of plonk is illegal, so you have to say something else on the tickets.

I LOVE it! It is so fun!

... SO if two guys are getting smashed using those mugs, and they clink mugs, is that like saying they're pigs?

... A boot mug might look nice in the china cabinet... It's a thought...

Touchy, touchy, Gary. If you don't know how to make a pottery boot, just say so!

It is a vase on its side, flattened with another cylinder upright at one end. The rest is just trim. What could be easier?

I have to admit, I had been thinking along those lines...
