SPIKE the cat

There are 300-500 cats at the SPCA and I am a volunteer there each week, helping people choose them and bring them home. Penny the beagle came home with me the first day of volunteering. Well, ah, Spike the cat has been my pal over there, and we are fostering him here. Except everybody tells me that there is no way he isn't staying with us.
Surprisingly, the 3 dogs love him. He is a big and playful and friendly cat, full of joy. He is one of the most mellow and easy-going, friendly creatures I have ever met, a golden retriver in grey and black stripes. He even chases balls! Our 13 year old not-very-bright fat kitten Emily is mad as hell. We will, ah, see how it goes, but in truth, I cut off Spike's ID collar.....

Good for you, Gary. And Mrs Pottersblog, too. Taking in a rescue cat (or dog) brings happiness and long life.

Of course you're keeping him! Just look at that face...

I'll bet Emily is in a real hissy-fit! Whenever we bring a new cat home the others are so astonished that we would invade their domain. They walk around s-l-o-w-l-y, hissing whenever they can. ha!

My one cat 'Sparkle', could be his sister. She looks just like him, only a tad smaller.

Yah! I knew it wouldn't be long before this one came home! It could be my Mooky's cousin!
We've gone through cat jealousy before and they work out the pecking order. Emily will adjust but it takes a food few weeks of hissing, growling and grand displays of flying fur!

spike looks like one cool cat.

my neighbor, barrett, had a cat exactly like spike but he went missing. barrett thinks a fisher cat got him but i'm starting to wonder if he ended up in ithaca somehow. smudge was his name and very friendly, just like spike. hmmm...

Awwwwwwwwwwww. Sweet. Spike looks sort of like Kitten, the cat I was just fostering...

Glad she is getting along with most everyone, and hopefully Emily will recover from the trauma quickly... fingers crossed.

Spike is a charmer, but he remains unimpressed by drama queen kittens who hiss at him.
