pottery in action: plus a word from the incompetent gardener

(pots by Gary Rith)
Basically, I managed to kill off most of what I planted this year, with two exceptions. I tossed some sunflower seeds onto some rather unlikely soil and rock, and let them go. I figured the chipmunks would eat the seeds. HA! One of my rare gardening successes!

Oooh. I love sunflowers. Glad the chipmunks did not eat them! And now the birds will probably eat the seeds...

Well done! I'm a huge fan of the plant and ignore method of gardening.

The boys each planted sunflowers in our back flowerbed this year. Cameron seems to have snagged the sunnier portion, as his are a foot taller that Philip's about 6'6"), but about 10 days younger.

Phil's has bloomed, though. We'll see how much the birds leave behind .. :-D
