About Me
- gary rith
- Gary Rith is a full-time studio potter and also an instructor of pottery at Cornell University's Pot Shop. Gary started learning pottery in 1983. In 1985 he served as an apprentice to Dean White of Deansboro, NY and earned a bachelor's degree in art from Bennington College in 1987. He has been a full-time sculptor and potter since 1997. Gary started his business in New Hamspshire, where he was selected as a member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen in 2004 and in 2005 was named one of New Hampshire's Emerging Ceramics Artists. He moved to the Ithaca, NY area in 2006, near where he grew up, and is happily making pots and sculpture in a purple house on Fall Creek. Gary likes to laugh, and his first goal is to have fun making pots.

'Yes', we can agree that most potters are scruffy looking, although they look pretty sharp in their Bears t-shirt. Football season is around the corner, oh yes it is!
you call that scruffy! go unshaven for another 4 days then take another picture. i should know, i'm the king of scruffiness.
I shave if I plan on going out into the public. I avoid the public.

the habs had a pretty disappointing season last year. i'm fearing even worse for the coming year. oh well...
Football? Hockey? Come on, we haven't even had the Ex yet. Let's not rush through summer.
Oh, I am COUNTING on the Habs having another bad year, D, I would even put my money on it.
Well, CM, baseball is OK, but the sports where people get knocked down are more entertaining.

Nope, not all potters are so scruffy. Why, I never look scruffy! No indeed. Why, if I don't shave for a month, no one even notices! Nice shirt by the way. I grew up in Chicago- well, Oak Park, but close enough.
