oh yes, SUMMER

Beastly HOT and humid, BUT, oh my, summer has fresh local cherries and blueberries. There is no way you can imagine how tasty these are back in January.
I make rather nice blueberry, grape and strawberry bowls, like this, but have not in a couple of years.

Throw in some whipping cream, and I'm there.

The strawberries are just finishing up here. Raspberries are next. :-D

Then, of course, you have your peaches, and lastly, apples and pears...

Man, there is nothing like a big bowl of fresh blueberries. And I always loved those tiny wild strawberries you could pick around Chateaugay, NY. Mmmmmmm.

Oh, and I forgot to mention: I feel honored to have the pig quote on your blog. Haha! Too funny.

Costco had a huge thing of raspberries for $3 today. We had strawberries, blueberries and raspberries for dessert with a dollop of whipped cream. Yum! We have blueberry bushes...but it has been so dry here we may not get any this year. :( Nice bowls. I ought to make some...

Those look like Concord grapes, the kind you squeeze and they pop out like an eyeball and are so tart? MMM!

Life's just the berries! Blueberry pie and cherry used to be my favourite.
