STRANGE BREW

My wife was out for the evening which, as you know, is license to watch the dumbest movies possible. It's the CADDYSHACK principle. Ie: some movies guys find funny and their women are merely puzzled and repulsed, finding no merit in the choice.
So, last night I watched that Canadian Classic from my youth, STRANGE BREW with Bob and Doug Mackenzie. It is utterly terrible and ridiculous, earning 9 thumbs down, maybe 10 thumbs down, out of ten. I would be embarrassed if I was Canadian. Just the thing for a bachelor evening.

Maybe you have to be Canadian to appreciate the subtle humour of that movie....eh?

Exactly, Marian. The subtlety of teh brilliant social satire that is the Mackenzie Brothers is lost on foreign minds. Hoser.

Dude. There are just some movies that can still make you laugh even after the 1000th viewing... I'd rather watch Strange Brew than Lifetime anyday!!!

well, yeah! Dumb has an important place in my life, esp. if it makes me laugh.

Listen, ya hoser, Take off, eh?

Oh, how I love Bob & Doug! Did you have their album, too, when you were in high school?
I suspect anyone who lived in a state bordering Canada had a thing for the Mackenzie brothers. :)
(Of course, part of the reason I liked them was because Geddy Lee sang with them on that song, and I'm quite partial to RUSH.)

I know, Rush is good

Confession: I subjected my 4 boys to a solid 30 minutes of Bob & Doug on youtube this afternoon, before I let the oldest have the computer to do his homework!
[Is this bad?]

I'll see if they do the coo-coo thingy within the next 24 hours.

kcinnova, you are the best. parent. ever.

Not having grown up in southern Ontario, I couldn't relate to Wayne and his world. Bob and Doug, however, I related to. Probably because my high school was full of hosers. Party, on, dudes (she says, mixing her metaphors).

That is just about the funniest movie ever! We've watched it with the kids numerous times. For your next bachelor evening, may I recommend the comparable UHF, Weird Al's starring vehicle? Well, I do anyway, even if I may'nt.
