hippopotami

(work by Gary Rith)
Having made hippo sugar bowls before (left!) someone asked about a matching creamer. I asked 'why not?'. The guy on the right regurgitates the milk out through his mouth and teeth.
I am terribly, hugely, wickedly excited about this pair. Sometimes you make something and it just works beautifully and then you feel like you hit the winning run in the world series.

There's a certain something that a Hippo barfing into your tea adds to the atmosphere. :-)

Excellent, my friend. I can't wait to see them glazed.

What fun! And they come complete with the usual Gary Rith whimsy and charm!

You need to sell your goods in the gift store of a huge national zoo!!! You would make millions...

As to that suggestion above, quoting from Louise, again, "Brilliant!" Where's your closest zoo, Gary? Big sales, I'd think in conjunction with one.
So what gave you the great idea of 'hissopossumusses', as one of my little guys used to call 'em? They do have a certain charm, and I believe it's the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC that has "William" their Egyptian hippo as their emblem? He's a lovely one. Almost as charming as Gary's.
